How Techfleet grades a device

What Excellent, Very good and Good mean, and what they never mean.

Every device on Techfleet is graded on one scale, whoever sells it. The grade describes how the outside looks. It never describes how the device works: every grade is fully tested and works 100%.

Excellent looks close to new, with no marks you can see at arm's length. Very good has light signs of use you'd only notice up close, and the screen is clear when it's on. Good has visible scratches or scuffs, never cracks or dents, and it's the lowest price.

If looks matter less to you than price, Good is the best value. If it's a gift, Excellent is the safe pick.

Battery health, explained

Why batteries age, how to check yours, and what the warranty covers.

A rechargeable battery holds a little less charge as it ages. Battery health compares what it holds today with what it held when new.

On an iPhone, see it in Settings, then Battery, then Battery Health. Many Android phones show it in their battery or device care settings.

On Techfleet, normal battery ageing is expected, but a battery that falls below 80% capacity within the 12-month warranty is covered.

Getting a device ready to return or send in

Four things to do before a device leaves your hands.

Back up your data. A device sent for a return or warranty claim may be erased.

Sign out of every account: Apple ID and Find My on Apple devices, your Google account on Android, and your Samsung account on Samsung devices. A device still locked to your account can't be checked or refunded.

Remove your passcode, and take out your SIM card or memory card.

Pack everything the device came with, like the cable and box, and use the prepaid label we send you.

Refurbished or used: what's the difference?

What a refurbished device on Techfleet has been through before it reaches you.

A used device is sold as it is. A refurbished device has been tested, cleaned and fixed where needed by the seller, so it works like new.

On Techfleet, every device is listed by a vetted seller, graded on one scale, and covered by a 12-month warranty and 30-day returns. That's the difference between buying refurbished here and taking a chance on a classified ad.
